"ACID RAIN" AWARDED IN ITALY

Tomek Popakul's animation was once again recognized by the jury of the international festival. This time the film was noticed at the Italian IL VARCO International Short Film Festival.

This year, IL VARCO International Short Film Festival took place for the third time, but it has already gained its viewers and managed to form a brand of one of the most interesting and artistically challenging film festivals in Italy. Short productions from around the world are invited to the program. In addition to debuts, independent and low-budget films, you can find the work of masters.

Tomek Popakul's film was presented in an international competition and left Italy with the second prize.

"Acid Rain" is set somewhere in Eastern Europe.Young runs away from home, as far as possible from the gray town. The initial excitement of hitchhiking goes down as she ends up on the outskirts of the city in the middle of the night. On the bridge, she notices a figure balancing dangerously on the rail. This is how she meets Skinny, who is a bit unstable freak. Skinny lives in a motorhome, which he drives, not necessarily dealing with legal errands. Young decides to get on with Skinny. Their common path leads to increasingly stranger regions, and an unnamed bond quickly forms between them.
