„THE FOURTH MAN” AWARDED AT CURTOCIRCUITO

On May 11th in Spanish Santiago de Compostella the winners of the 9th edition of Curtocircuito were announced. The only Polish film in the competition – a documentary “The Fourth Man” directed by Krzysztof Kasior received one of the top festival’s awards.

POLES WIN IN KHARKOV

During the fourth edition of Kharkov Siren Film Festival that came to an end on 13th May, Poles triumphed twice. Young Polish filmmakers received the main awards of the festival.

"GRANDMA HAS GONE" AWARDED AT VISEGRÁD SHORTS ON TOUR

Last Tuesday the first edition of the travelling film festival Visegrad Shorts on Tour came to an end in Budapest. Robert Hloz’s “Numbers”, shot in South Korea, received Daazo.com’s 1000-euro Visegrád Short Film Award. The audiences of the four countries chose Polish “Grandma Has Gone” by Tomasz Jurkiewicz, who won the audience award.

POLES TWICE AWARDED IN DRESDEN

At the closing gala of the 24th Filmfest International Short Film Festival in Dresden Poles celebrated a double triumph. Two graduation films directed by the students of Polish National Film School in Łódź, “I won’t be here tomorrow” and “Frozen stories”, were listed among the laureates.

POLISH MOUNTAIN DOCUMENTARIES AWARDED IN SLOVENIA

Last Friday the sixth edition of the Mountain Film Festival Domžale in Slovenia reached its end. Two Polish films were listed among the laureates. “The Art of Freedom” by Wojtek Słota and Marek Kłosowicz and “Declaration of Immortality” by Marcin Koszałka scored two of the main festival’s awards.

POLISH ANIMATION WINS IN AUSTRIA

Short animation „The Sleepincord” directed by Marta Pajek won the Grand Prix of the International Tricky Woman Animated Film Festival that came to an end on 18th March in Vienna. The film was produced by Se-Ma-For Film Foundaton with the support of Polish Film Institute.

THE SUCCESS OF „NORMAL PEOPLE” IN MEXICO

On 17th March the 8th edition of student film festival KINOKI reached its end. The jury decided to hand over one of the main prizes to the short fiction “Normal people” by Piotr Złotorowicz – a student of Polish National Film School in Łódź.

„FROZEN STORIES” RECEIVES A SPECIAL MENTION IN THE NETHERLANDS

During the yesterday’s closing of the fourth edition of the short film festival GO SHORT in Dutch Nijmegen, Grzegorz Jaroszuk’s graduation film received the special mention. The award for the graduate of Polish National Film School in Łódź came up as a perfect crowning of the fact that Poland was this year’s guest country at the festival.

“NORMAL PEOPLE” PROVES THE BEST AT FLICKS

On 10th March the third edition of student Flicks Film Festival organized by the students from Dutch Groningen reached its end. Short fiction by Piotr Złotorowicz was announced the best among all the films presented in this year’s selection.
