THE ECHO – THE RECORD-BREAKER AMONG POLISH SHORT FEATURE FILMS – WINS AGAIN

The screening at Alpinale Shortfilmfestival Nenzing, which took place from 10th to 14th August, and the award won at this Austrian festival is yet another proof that the film “The Echo” by Magnus von Horn, made by Leon Schiller’s National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Lodz, can be described as the most frequently shown at foreign festivals from among Polish short feature films produced during last two years.

ESTERHAZY AWARDED IN MEXICO

At the recently-finished International Film Festival Expresión En Corto in Mexico, the award for the best short animation went to Izabela Plucińska, the author of the film “Esterhazy” – film adaptation of the well-known German children book by Irene Dische and Hans Magnus Enzensberger.

POLISH DOCUMENTARY ETUDE AWARDED IN BRAZIL

Matej Bobrik, director of the documentary etude “Where the sun doesn’t rush”, made in the Leon Schiller's National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź, was awarded at the Brazilian Student Film Festival.

THE NUMBER OF LAURELS FOR KUBA CZEKAJ IS STILL GROWING

During a few days in August Kuba Czekaj, the director of a short feature film “Don’t be afraid of the dark room” was again awarded at two festivals: Portuguese AVANCA 2010 and “Two Riversides” in Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec nad Wisłą.

On the 31st of July the largest film event in Kosovo will start – DokuFest International Festival of Documentary and Short Films. At this festival, the latest Polish documentary and short films will appear, and they will compete for the main prizes in the international competition programme.

“LUXURY” IN CANADA WITHIN THE FRAMES OF BEST OF SHORTS

Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto, one of the most important festivals in North America dedicated to short films, finished on 6th June, but the Canadian audience will again have an opportunity to get acquainted with crème de la crème of the festival. On 21st July in National Film Board in Toronto, there will be the screening of the award-winning films at the Worldwide Short Film Festival. Among them, there is “Luxury” by Jarosław Sztandera – the winner of TELUS Audience Choice Award.

POLISH DOCUMENTARIES IN MEXICO

The organizers of the International Documentary Film Festival in Mexico, which will take place from 21st to 31st October, have announced the list of films qualified for the competition program. Among them, there are six Polish films.

POLISH SHORT FILMS AT THE FESTIVAL IN DENMARK
