TWO AWARDS FOR “I'M HERE”

It was an extraordinary evening for Julia Orlik's animated film. It received two awards at this year's Paris International Animation Film Festival. The jury appreciated its direction while the viewers awarded their own special prize.

PIAFF – Paris International Animation Film Festival takes place in the capital of France and is entirely devoted to animation. The program of the three-day event includes short films from around the world.

The film by Julia Orlik turned out to be the biggest winner of the festival. “I'm Here” won the hearts of both the jurors – who awarded the director – and the audience which gave it the audience award.

The protagonist of the winning production is an elderly man who is looking after his paralysed wife. Despite his old age and own health issues, he tries his best to alleviate her suffering, which is getting more severe every day. He is aided by his daughter, who tries to reconcile the care given to her mother with her own work at the hospital and her personal life. Each of them has different views on how the woman should be looked after, which leads to many arguments.

At the same festival, but in Music Video category won production directed by Wiesława Ruty. Her music video was made for "Broadcaster" song by Squid.
