„NORMAL PEOPLE” AND „PAPARAZZI” AWARDED AT CAMERIMAGE

The 19th edition of International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography PLUS Camerimage, that for the second time was held in Bydgoszcz, came to an end on 3rd December. Apart from awards that went to Polish films in the full length category also short films were distinguished.

TWO POLISH ANIMATIONS SHORTLISTED FOR THE OSCAR

On December 1st American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced 10 titles of short animated films qualified for competing for an Oscar nomination. “Paths of hate” by Damian Nenow and “Magic piano” directed by Martin Clapp are in the selected group.

„TWIST AND BLOOD” WINS GRAND PRIX IN JAPAN

Fourteenth edition of Kyoto International Student Film and Video Festival brought another success to Kuba Czekaj. On Friday, 25th November, director received Grand Prix of the festival for his graduation film “Twist and Blood”.

„TALK TO HIM” HONOURED IN MADRID

Eight minutes-long animation made by Agata Prętka scored another award last weekend. Film was screened and awarded at 21st Semana de Cine Experimental in Madrid.

The last weekend has ended with great success not only for Eliza Kubarska, Marcin Koszałka, Wojciech Staoń and Marta Prus, but also for Jakub Stożek whose documentary “Out of Reach” won the prize at RIDM in Montreal.

“PATHS OF HATE” PROVES THE BEST ANIMATION AT SLIFF

On Sunday, 20th November the 20th edition of American St. Louis International Film Festival came to an end. Damian Nenow found himself among the winners receiving the award for the Best Short Animation for his “Paths of Hate” that screened at the festival.

AWARD FOR „FROZEN STORIES” AT AFI FEST

“Frozen stories” by Grzegorz Jaroszuk - a graduate of Polish National Film School in Łódź- that is already nominated to EFA, was awarded at American AFI FEST in Los Angeles last Thursday.
