POLISH ANIMATIONS IN THE ANNECY FESTIVAL COMPETITION

The most important film festival devoted entirely to animation has just announced its selection, which includes Polish films in the competition section. We remind you that this year's edition of the festival will take place online on 15-30th of June.

Annecy Festival is the most important and one of the oldest festivals dedicated to animated film in Europe. Every year, it gathers an audience of over 150,000 and becomes a meeting place for professionals connected to the animated film industry from around the world. In Annecy the films compete for the title of the best short, television, commissioned film and student film. The best of them will receive Crystal Awards. This year is an exception as the festival will take place online and  will last a little longer.

It's another good year for Polish animation. Four Polish films and one commercial production have been invited to the competition sections of the festival. Marcin Giżycki's short animation "Sunset" was featured in the Off-Limits competition. A trailer promoting the Polish Animator festival made by Karolina Specht will compete in the competition for commissioned animations. The animation can be seen here.

Three films of young Polish animators  will be showcased in the competition for the best student production. The selectors were delighted with "I'm here" by Julia Orlik, "Portrait of a Woman" by Natalia Durszewicz and "Such a Beautiful Town" by Marta Koch.

The entire Annecy program can be found on the festival's website.
