"PORTRAIT OF SUZANNE" AWARDED IN INDIA

The 16th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival has just ended. The film by Izabela Plucińska was chosen as the best international animated film at the festival.

The first edition of Mumbai International Film Festival was held in 1990. The festival is dedicated to documentary, short and animated films from all over the world. In addition to the most prestigious competition sections, the special events always await the audience, among others, retrospectives of outstanding filmmakers and reviews of films which enjoyed great popularity at other festivals.

The animated film by Izabela Plucińska was invited to one of the competitions and won. The plot of "Portrait of Suzanne"  starts in a small hotel, where a man tries to prevent his hunger for love by eating too much. However, plates full of cooked meats, vegetables and fruit cannot soothe the longing for his beloved Suzanne. When the protagonist goes to the city in search of food, he accidentally injures his left foot which unexpectedly turns into Suzanne. From then on, they can be inseparable... This is, however, only the beginning of a surreal story about loneliness, jealousy and love. A grotesque adaptation of the short story by Roland Topor, made of plasticine, in which every detail delights.
