"WEIGHTLIFTER" AWARDED IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Once again, "Weightlifter" was recognised at an international festival. This time, it received the award at the Brno 16 IFF.

The Czech festival Brno 16 is one of the oldest festivals dedicated to short films in the world - this year, it celebrated its 60th-anniversary edition. It does not concentrate on one kind of short films, but in its programme, it presents both feature and animated films as well as avant-garde films, produced by students, amateurs and professionals. This year, the honourable mention from the jury went to "Weightlifter."

At first glance, the film by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk is a story about the real price of victory. Tragic news interrupts Petro's preparations for an important weightlifting competition.

The full list of award-winners is available on the festival's official website.
