“Luksus” by Jarek Sztandera the best in Spain!

At the recently finished International Short Film Festival Almeria en Corto, “Luksus” by Jarek Sztandera – feature-film made as a degree project in the Lodz Film School – received the award for the best film of the festival.

The jurors selected “Luksus” from thirty-one short-length, fiction, animated and documentary films taking part in the contest. The director Jarek Sztandera was appreciated for his courage, talent and elegance in presenting an unexceptionally difficult subject, for delicacy on the one hand and rigour in treating social tragedies on the other hand. At the festive gala on Saturday, Konrad Wróblewski (photographed) – the film production manager – received the award on behalf of the director.

The popularity of  “Luksus” around the world has not diminished since its first successes abroad (the young jury's award at one of the most important short-length film festivals in Clermont-Ferrand). The film was shown and awarded in Spain, France, Belgium, the USA, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, Russia, Georgia, Korea. Currently is is competing for the prize at the  Anchorage Film Festival in Alaska, in January the Australian audience will have the opportunity of watching this film at  International Short Film Festival Flickerfest in Sydney, and it will be shown together with other films from the Lodz Film School during the season in Singapore.
