SUCCESS OF "BEYOND IS THE DAY" AT CLERMONT-FERRAND FILM FESTIVAL

Damian Kocur's film was awarded by the jury with award for Best European Film. Therefore, it was included on the shortlist of films eligible for a nomination for the European Film Award in the Short Film category.

The Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival has for years been the largest event in the world devoted exclusively to short films, also co-organizing the world's largest market of such films. Every year, it is visited by tens of thousands of people - from ordinary viewers to directors, producers, critics, screenwriters and distributors. This year, due to the pandemic situation in France, the festival was held online for the first time.

This new version of the festival turned out to be extremely lucky for Damian Kocur. His "Beyond is the Day" won the Best European Film award, which means a chance to receive the European Film Award - one of the most prestigious awards a filmmaker can dream of. The award granted by the jury of the international competition means that "Beyond is the Day" was placed on the shortlist of films from which the European Film Academy nominates titles in the Best Short Film category. This is yet another award for Damian Kocur's film - let us remind you that at the end of January "Beyond is the Day" won in its category at the festival in Trieste.

"Beyond is the Day" tells the story of Paweł, who is a single man, working on a small river ferry. Day by day he keeps doing the same things until he meets Mohammad, an illegal immigrant. Paweł decides to help him. Finally, there is someone he can talk to
