POLISH FILMS AT THE FESTIVAL DOK.LEIPZIG

The end of October means the beginning of the 62nd edition of the festival DOK Leipzig. In the programme of one of the largest European festivals, there will be no lack of Polish animated and documentary films.

DOK Leipzig is one of the leading events in the world of documentary and animated film. Every year, in Leipzig, the latest film productions from several dozens of countries from all continents are presented. This year, at DOK Leipzig will be showing in total, 310 films. In  the official selection, about 160 films were chosen to participate in the festival, whereas over 140 films went to special programmes. 

The viewers of the German festival will have a chance to watch two Polish documentary films. "In Touch" by Paweł Ziemilski is included in the International Programme, and "The Wind.   A Documentary Thriller "   by Michał Bielawski will be presented in the Late Harvest section. 

Three Polish animated films are invited to the international short film competition. Among the lucky ones, there are premiere screening of "Guilt" by Marcjanna Urbańska, also "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska and "Last Supper" by Piotr Dumała. 

In the section KIDS Dok, the screening of the animated film "The Kite" by Martin Smatana awaits the young viewers. Within the frames of Homage Brothers Quay, the audience will have a chance to watch  "Splinters" directed by Jerzy Kucia and two Polish co-productions made by the Quay Brothers duo: "Inwentorium of Traces" and "Maska."

In addition, thanks to the many years of the festival's co-operation with the Krakow Film Foundation, our films will also be presented in the special programme Polish Docs in DOK Market. 

There will be no lack of Polish features at the DOK Co-pro Market, either. As many as three Polish projects are invited to participate in it. You can read more about it here.

This year's edition of DOK Leipzig starts on the 28th of October and lasts until the 3rd of November.
