"BLESS YOU!" WINS IN SPAIN

The film by Paulina Ziółkowska won the best animated film award at the festival Bilbao European School Zinema.

Bilbao European School Zinema is one of the most important festivals for young film-makers, students of film and art schools. The Spanish festival is a meeting place for several generations – beginner directors have the opportunity to do some networking and get acquainted with the masters of the cinema, as well as to observe their work during workshops and masterclasses.

Two Polish productions by young women film-makers are invited to this year's animated film competition.  In addition to the award-winning  "Bless You!"  by Paulina Ziółkowska, the Spanish audience also had a chance to watch the animated film  "The Other,"  directed by Marta Magnuska.

Produced by the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre, the film "Bless You!" tells a story about people waiting at a bus stop on a sunny day. Suddenly, people begin to sneeze one by one. An epidemic breaks out. In the chaos of sneezes, however, it turns out that the worst thing is to get down with oneself.
