SHORT FICTION BY JURKIEWICZ RECEIVES A SPECIAL MENTION IN GREECE

For the 14th time, the Festival of Independent and Video Makers took place in Greek city of Patras. "If fish could talk" by Tomasz Jurkiewicz was not only screened in the competition programme but also received a honourable mention on the last day of the festival.

74 short films from 45 countries found their way into this year's competition. On he last day of the festival, 6th October, the awards and honourable mentions were given, and the only one Polish representative "If fish could talk" by Tomasz Jurkiewicz, received honourable mention for sensitivity to the family matters.

"If fish could talk" is a fairy tale story about non-adjustment, dreams and sick love, whose protagonist, 30-year-old Wojtek, wants to catch the biggest fish in a nearby lake. Before that he has to deal with his overprotective mother. The film was produced by Munk Studio within the frames of "30 minutes" programme. "Centrala" is the film's executive producer.
