“ZIMA” WINS AWARD FOR BEST SOUND
The film by the duo Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki brought home the award for Best Sound at the 71st Martovski Film Festival.
The Martovski Film Festival is one of the most significant film events in Serbia. Held in Belgrade, the festival focuses on showcasing the most interesting shorts and documentary films. Its aim is to promote independent filmmaking and provide creators with the opportunity to present their works to a wide audience.
The Polish production Zima by Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki was recognised for Best Sound. The award went to its creators, namely Michał Fojcik and his studio Sound Mind.
It grows slowly like an icicle, but one day it falls and crashes.
Anka loves cats. And Jesus. In the winter silence, the lagoon freezes over and the unspeakable appears like a crack in the ice.
It's a mosaic portrait of a small fishing village, where man and man, man and animal, animal and animal are interdependent in a delicate balance of warm, tender care, and cold, emotional cruelty. Zima is an amazing story about loneliness and community in the spirit of magical realism.
