“VYRAJ” RECEIVES SPECIAL MENTION IN TURKEY

The short fiction film by Agnieszka Nowosielska has received a Special Mention at the International Amity Short Film Festival.

It was the fifth edition of the the International Amity Short Film Festival. This Istanbul-based festival places particular emphasis on spiritual themes, dealing with man's unusual relationship with the universe. This edition was dedicated to the memory of esteemed Turkish artist Neşet Ertaş and took place on 22-25 December.

Its program included the Polish short film Vyraj. Produced at the Kieślowski Film School, the short by Agnieszka Nowosielska returned from the event with a Special Mention.

The protagonist of the awarded film is Weronika, who had been living a quiet and idyllic life until she learned about her father's illness. Suddenly, the world around her cries out for attention and reality slips out of control. While playing with his friends, her son Pietrek experiences something that makes him believe he possesses healing powers. Is it possible that the boy could influence his grandfather's health?
