"IMPOSSIBLE FIGURES AND OTHER STORIES II" AWARDED IN SPAIN

Another award for Marta Pajek was handed out at the Alcine Festival in Madrid.

At the  47th Alcalá de Henares / Comunidad de Madrid Film Festival, which finished on November 17th, Marta Pajek’s film "Impossible Figures and Other Stories II" received the second place award in the short films category.

"Impossible Figures and Other Stories" is a second part of the tryptic based on the idea of impossible figures – the ones that can be put on paper but cannot exist in real life. The animated series is a statement about the role of a woman, determined in three different spaces: starting with the most intimate one – like home and family – and finishing with the wider social context. The third part of the "Impossible figures and Other Stories" tryptic, with a working title "Strip-tease", has received the production support from the Polish Film Institute. The production starts in autumn. The producer of Marta Pajek’s tryptic is animation studio from Warsaw Animoon.

Marta Pajek graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków where she studied film animation under Jerzy Kucia. Her films, including "Next Door" and "Sleepincord", were presented at many festivals in Poland and abroad. Her works were also exhibited in contemporary art galleries.
