POLISH FILMS AT KUANDU FESTIVAL

Polish animation will form a great part of this years, fifth edition of Taiwaneese KDIAF – Kuandu International Animation Festival. The programme features the films by Polish directors and meetings with guests coming from Poland

Every year the screening programme of the festival is accompanied by the series of meetings with animation specialists as well as the most prominent artists. This year the organizers have invited Jerzy Kucia to give a masterclass. The authour of "Reflections" - whose latest animation "Fugue for cello, trumpet and a landscape" is touring the festival, will give a lecture on his approach towards animation. Kucia is one of the most outstanding Polish directors of animated films related to the Polish School of Animation. He is the authour of over a dozen of films  that brough him many awards at festivals all over the world. 

The programme features also a lecture by Piotr Kadas (Animation Across Borders). A 90 minutes long meeting will be devoted to the most interesting trends on the Polish market with the special emphasis on the children's film. The audience will also get the chance to watch a programme made od 13 films screened at this years edition of O!PLA festival that was iniciated and is organised by Kardas. The programme features such films as "Loop" by Michał Socha, "A Documentary Film" by Marcin Podolec and "A Blue room" by Tomasz Siwiński to list just a few. 

One Polish film received the invitation to screen as a part of the competition – "Summer 2014" by Wojciech Sobczyk. It is worth adding that during KDIAF a screening of the nomninees for the Hsin Yi children award is to be held. Among the nominees stands one episode from "Bear Me" series by Kasia Wilk. The festival laureates will be announced on 31st October at the closing gala.

This year's edition of KDIAF will be held between 24th October and 1st November.
