"FROZEN STORIES" ON THE TOP AGAIN

Last weekend brought yet another award to the graduation film by Grzegorz Jaroszuk. The story of two supermarket employees conquered the hearts of the Czech jury! The film returns to Poland with another Grand Prix!

Brno 16, 53rd edition of which came to an end last weekend, is the oldest festival dedicated to short films in Czech Republic. This year's novelty was the widening of the short film competition formula, where apart from films shoot in the traditional way were also the ones produced using mobile phones. In the main competition, Poland was represented by two films - the triumphant "Frozen Stories" as well as "A porter from Mewa hotel" by Michał Janów, who made his début in Brno with a screening in the competition section.

On Saturday evening, jury under the leadership of Jan Svĕrak announced the winner of the Festival's Grand Prix. "Frozen Stories" defeated as many as 42 films in the competition. The Czech jury appreciated the black humour and the original style of Jaroszuk's film. As an award, the director will receive a special statuette - "Head full of movies" by the Slovakian artist Blanka Šperkova. The Brno award is the first award for the film in Czech Republic. Since the première at last year's festival in Locarno, the film has already won fourteen awards at international festivals.

In November, "Frozen stories" can be  found in the programmes of ten other international film festivals.

The film was produced Polish National Film School in Łódź. The film's co-producer is EasyBusyProductions.
