POLISH TITLE: WYRZUTKI

In the summer of 1943 the Nazis started final deportation of Jews from the Białystok region to the death camp in Treblinka. The transportation route led through Łapy, a town where trains would slow down significantly. Some parents threw their children out of the train windows to save them from death. The documentary presents the accounts of eyewitnesses who remember the shocking cases of deaths as well as those of miraculous survival.

Documentary producer, director and cameraman. He is a graduate of the Polish Film School in Łódź, immigrated to the USa in 1981 and has since directed and produced over 40 documentaries. His "School Prayer. A community at war" received an Emmy Award. Sławomir's independent works focus on critical social, political, and environmental issues. His director of photography credits includes two Oscar Nominations.
