"BATHS" - THE BEST ANIMATED FILM AT THE ANIBAR FESTIVAL

The fifth edition of the ANIBAR festival in Kosovo ended last Sunday, 10th August. Polish animation "Baths" by Tomek Ducki scored the Grand Prix of the festival.

This year, as many as 64 films were included in the international film competition. The films were divided into 13 thematic blocks. Apart from "Baths", six other Polish films were selected for the festival screenings, among others, "Fat and Skinny" by Aleksandra Brożyna, "Bear me" by Kasia Wilk and "Danny Boy" by Marek Skrobecki. During the five-day long festival, a total of 109 films was shown in three competition categories - International, Balkan and Student.

In this year’s international jury consisting of five people sat Izabela Plucińska - the author of numerous animated films, the latest of which, "Darling", was also shown at the festival in Kosovo. The jury decided to give the festival's Grand Prix to Tomek Ducki and his four-minute animation “Baths".

"Baths" is a metaphorical picture of the meeting of two elderly women who regularly practise swimming in the city baths. During one of the meetings, they are unexpectedly transported to a completely different reality. The film's producer is Warsaw Film Miniatures Studio and the British Peek and Boo. Krakow Film Foundation deals with the promotion of "Baths" at festivals.
