RUNNING TOWARD THOU

POLISH TITLE: BIEC W STRONĘ TY

The film constitutes a poetic impression that revolves around the attempt of its protagonist Irma to face up to her life experiences. The past and the present are strongly interwined. Images from her childhood, seminal moments of her adult life and, finally, an allegorical run through the forest, that represents Irma's emotional state, become a psychological case study of a woman's soul.
The extraordinary sensitivity of the protagonist, a writer, is clearly manifested in the movie's poetics, which repeatedly evokes a surreal and symbolic realm. Running toward Thou is a record of an individual's struggle with oneself, one's own life story and the burden of life experiences, but at the same time it gives the answer where one can seek support and strength. It turns out, that the most important relationship that a person creates is with oneself and the moment we become aware of this is already our victory.
