The short documentary "The Tuners", directed by Paweł Chorzępa, has been selected for the international competition at The Norwegian Short Film Festival, which will take place from 10 to 14 June 2026 in Grimstad. In addition, short documentaries are in the running for a separate ‘Golden Chair’ award for the best short documentary. This will also mark the film’s Norwegian premiere.
The Grimstad Festival is one of the most important events in the Norwegian film industry and serves as a unique platform for filmmakers – both newcomers and established directors – to meet representatives of the world’s leading festivals. It is also the only short film festival in Norway that qualifies films for the Oscars®.
The selectors for the International Short Films and Short Documentaries competition emphasised that this year’s programme comprises films rich in diversity – ranging from humour to melancholy – which are personal micro-stories from a “world in chaos”, distinguished by their high artistic quality and polished visual style.
The film had its world premiere at this year’s FIPADOC in France and was screened at Tampere FF in Finland. The film is produced by Joanna Chorzępa of Beesfilm House, with international festival distribution handled by KFF Sales.
