“THE DRESS” NABS ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATION

The short film by Tadeusz Łysiak has found itself among the five short fiction films nominated for the Oscars.

The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, are the most recognisable and highly valued trophies in the world of cinema. The awards are presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The first ceremony was held in 1929. This year's winners will be announced on 27 March.

Produced by the Warsaw Film School, this short film tells the story of Julia. Working in a roadside motel, the girl succumbs to an overwhelming feeling of rejection and loneliness. She is different and society has repeatedly made sure she knows it. However, she dreams of a relationship, of physical closeness with a man. Unexpectedly she crosses paths with a handsome truck driver and begins to fantasize about him.
