"VYRAJ" WINS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

The film by Agnieszka Nowosielska was named the best short film production during the 4th edition of the International Film Festival ELBE DOCK in Ústi nad Labem, northern Czech Republic.

International Film Festival ELBE DOCK focuses primarily on showing and promoting films made by debutants. Novice filmmakers can present their films in several competitions. The audience can watch their first or second documentaries and live-action films from around the world. The festival also offers special educational workshops for students as well as meetings with cinema masters and film industry experts.

This year's festival programme also featured Polish films. The following titles were competing for awards: A Little Bit of Paradise by Andrzej Cichocki, We Have One Heart by Katarzyna Warzecha, and the awarded Vyraj by Agnieszka Nowosielska. 

The winning film tells the story of Weronika, who's living a quiet and idyllic life until she learns about her father's illness. The world around her cries out for attention and reality slips out of control. While playing with his friends, her son Pietrek experiences something that makes him believe he possesses healing powers. Is it possible that the boy could improve his grandfather's health?
