POLISH FEMALE ANIMATORS AT KURZFILMTAGE IN WINTERTHUR!

The ongoing Kurzfilmtage Festival will host screenings of contemporary Polish animations made by women.

In the special program - Tricky Bodies – the animations by Polish women directors will be presented. Film screenings and meetings with animators will take place on November 11th and 12th. The programmer was Iwona Hałgas.

"Impossible Figures and Other Stories II " by Marta Pajek
The protagonist of the second part of the tryptic is a woman who trips and falls while rushing around the house. She gets up only to discover that her home has unusual features – it is built from paradoxes, filled with illusions, and covered with patterns.

"To Thy Heart" by Ewa Borysewicz
Ewa Borysewicz's animation is a secular litany and the story of a failed relationship resounding through the city of concrete.

"Bits and Species" by Urszula Palusińska
Shelves full of bats, wolves, wild ducks and bananas. Among them – a man. The film addresses the issue of diversity.

"Pussy" by Renata Gąsiorowska
A young woman spends the evening alone at home. She decides to give herself a treat, but not everything works out as smoothly as she has imagined.

"Correction Exercises" by Agnieszka Polska
For "Correction Exercises", the artist used photographs found in old books on medicine. The aesthetic qualities of these photographs – low resolution and slight blurriness – make the film seem like an old documentary.

"Foreign Body" by Marta Magnuska
This is a story about something that seems strange at first, but turns out to be the dearest thing to us – about the inner and outer transformation.

"The City Sails On" by Balbina Bruszewska
Bitter-sweet reflection on life in Poland. The film touches the most important social issues like unemployment and poverty, farmers strikes, football hooligans and crime. This is a journey into the corners of the city of Łódź with its people and post-communist landscape.
