“BATHS “ RECEIVES A SPECIAL MENTION IN LEEDS
Short animation by Tomek Ducki received another award yesterday evening. Film was picked up by the jury of UK’s Leeds International Film Festival. This is the sixteenth award the film scores.
This year’s 28th edition of Leeds IFF was held from 5th to 20th November. Leeds is the largest film festival in England outside London. The program features three main competitive sections for feature films, documentaries and shorts (including animation). Apart from the competitive sections the abundant programme includes also cult films, experiments and numerous retrospective screenings. Annually around 200 films produced all over the world are screened in Leeds.
This year’s animation competition called World Animation Award listed 30 titiles. Apart from the film by Ducki there was another Polish-UK coproduction – “Penis mouse” by Krzysztof Babaski in the set. Yesterday evening the winners were announced. “Baths” received a Special Mention from the jury that called his film an immersive cinematic and graphic joy.
“Baths” was produced by Warsaw based Studio Miniatur Filmowych and Peek and Boo. Its international festival promotion is supported by the Krakow Film Foundation.
