In the last weekend of September, the latest film by Martin Rath, “Arena,” was given yet another award. This time, the student etude was awarded by the jury of the American festival Crested Butte.

In this year’s competition, 24 films competed for the Best Short Film Award. “Arena” by Martin Rath was the only Polish film in the competition. The film was given the Jury’s Special Award. It is already the film’s third award; so far, the film was given the Special Mention at the festival in New Jersey and the Best Cinematography Award at the Kustendorf festival in Serbia. A young hitchhiker is taken by the inhabitants of Bieszczady Mountains. Fascinated by the charisma of the people and the wildness of the place, he decides to undergo a test and in this way to constitute his presence in the mountains. What remains is the question, to whom should we prove our strength?

This year's edition of the festival took place from 25 to 28 September.  Apart from the short films, also feature-length films, documentaries and children’s films were screened.
