“BATHS” BY DUCKI AWARDED AGAIN

Last weekend, another award went to Tomek Ducki. This time, the film was awarded by the jury of the Brazilian Animage festival, held from 16 to 28 September in Pernambuco.

56 films from around the world met in this year's international competition at the festival. Apart from the award-winning “Baths” (prod. Studio Miniatur Filmowych, Peek and Boo), Poland was represented also by “To Thy Heart” by Ewa Borysewicz and “A Blue Room” by Tomasz Siwiński, made in co-production with France. On the last day of the festival the names of the winners were announced - among them, there was “Baths” which was given the Best Art award. The jury included Chris Robinson - the artistic director of the festival in Ottawa, where “The Baths” was shown in September.

At the festival, the films were shown also in the children’s film competition, feature-length animated films, as well in many other non-competing sections, among others, the retrospective of films made by Norman McLaren and animated erotic films. In addition, the festival programme included exhibitions as well as masterclasses, among others, meeting with Theodor Ushev and Emma de Swaef and Mark Roels - the authors of the animated film “Oh Willy.”
